About Mark

As a Conservative Republican I am committed to represent the residents of North Carolina. I have invested my entire life in service to others. I have been a NC Paramedic since 1993 working in Haywood County, Greenville County SC and Pickens County SC. I was a firefighter with Center Pigeon Fire Department in Haywood County for almost 30 years. I am currently an Insurance Agent in Haywood County as well as a Haywood County Commissioner. I worked with teenagers for 20 years by teaching Sunday School and/or leading the youth groups in several churches located in Haywood County. My family and I continue to attend church. I have always enjoyed giving of myself to help others. I have been married to Rebecca Messer Pless for 32 years. We have raised two sons together Jared Pless and Gage Pless. Jared is a US Marine, firefighter/paramedic with Center Pigeon and Cruso Fire departments in Haywood County. Jared owns his home in the Bethel Community of Haywood County along with his wife Emily Pless who is an EMT with Cleveland County EMS. Gage is a US Marine and works for HVO in Waynesville. Gage owns his home in the town of Canton in Haywood County along with his wife Queitha Pless. She works at HVO with him. They have Isis a pit bull rescue. We also have a new daughter to our family Audrey. She is 15 and the joy of the entire family. Audrey brings so much life and energy to our family. We have numerous fur babies who complete our home 2 German Shepard’s Max and Truman, Crystal is a White Husky and Audrey’s very best friend. We have 2 cats Bella & Snickers. Everyone of our fur babies are rescues or were re-homed to us by friends. Now that you know my family I will be posting other updates on my current position with numerous topics.
